Public Works Commission (PWC), 483-1382:  Deposits: electric, water and sewer - $250.00+(the plus means to double the normal usage--for instance if the normal bill was $230.00 the deposit would be $460.00; electric only - $170.00+; water and sewer - $80.00+; sewer only-$50.00+; water only-$30.00+. (+deposit may be higher than quoted, if previous consumption was high).  Service charges:  electric - $15.45; water and water/sewer - $15.00.  A waiver may be obtained with a satisfactory credit report fax (processed by PWC).

Lumbee River Electric Membership Corp., 864-2220:  Waiver of deposit ($300.00). $10.00 membership fee and $15.45 connection fee (see Pope AFB Housing Office for waiver)

South River Electric, 436-1666:  Deposits: $255.00.  Service charge: $10.00.  A waiver may be obtained with a satisfactory credit report (processed by South River Electric) or a Letter of Good Credit from previous utility company.

North Carolina Natural Gas Company (NCNG), 1-800-275-6264:  Deposits:  Natural gas $100.00; LP gas $150.00 metered ($150.00 plus a tank of gas if not metered).  A waiver may be obtained with a satisfactory credit report from EquiFax (processed by NCNG) or with three Letters of Credit (two from a utility company and one credit reference).  No deposit required for homeowners with good credit.

Sprint Carolina Telephone, 864-9011:  Deposit:  No set amount--depends on credit/phone history.  A waiver may be obtained with a Letter of Credit from your phone company or two Letters of Credit from major credit firms (MC, bank, etc.) typed on company letterhead, with one year's service and good pay habits.  The letter cannot be older than 30 days.  A person with good credit may co-sign for you to get a phone installed without a deposit.

Time Warner Cable, 864-3935 :  Connection fee--$22.41 ($14.61 each additional TV), plus 1 month service bill (depends on cable package the customer picks).

Harnett County Department of Public Utilities (Lillington) - water, (910) 893-7575 :  Deposit: water--$50.00 (refundable); service charge $10.00.  Water and sewage $100 (refundable), and  service charge $10.00.  Homeowners $10 (refundable), and service charge $10.00.  Bring lease or proof of purchase.  If bad utility credit, deposits are doubled.
